Josh Lovestone - 10
Josh is a college junior at the University of Calgary. He is a 6'4" wing player that has the shooting range of a 2 guard and the inside moves of a post player. This makes for a great mix of options for the Trojans offense. A 2004 graduate of Salmon Arm Secondary, Josh previously played for the University College of the Cariboo in Kamloops, BC and SAIT in Calgary, AB. Was a member of the UCC Sun Demon team that went 17-1 during the regular season and then swept through both the BCCAA and National Tournaments. Josh won a CCAA National Championship in 2005, defeating Grant MacEwan in the final.
MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Men's Basketball - Josh Lovestone
Josh Lovestone, a first year SAIT Trojan from Salmon Arm, BC, enrolled
in the Pre-Electrical Program, showed why he is a key ingredient to the
success of the Trojans Men's Basketball squad this season. In game one
of the weekend series versus Briercrest on Friday, Lovestone put up good
numbers; 7 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal in the 75-65 win.
During game two on Saturday afternoon Josh lit up the Clippers for 24
points and pulled in 8 rebounds enroute to an 88-57 victory. Proving
his strong offensive capabilities on the scoresheet, Lovestone's biggest
contribution to the Trojans comes at the defensive end of the court; his
unleashed passion for the game will help lead his team throughout the
year.
